Configuration

You must run Volto Interceptor to activate script security. This is the startup screen:

Select from High, Medium or Low security options.

Low Security: All VBS scripts will be run.

Medium Security: The user is prompted with this warning before a VBS script is run and has the option to prevent execution:

High Security: Only trusted scripts will be run and the user is warned with one of the messages below when trying to run an untrusted script or a trusted script that has been modified or tampered with. The user has the option to view the source of the blocked script:

To select which scripts are to be marked as trusted, select 'High Security' and click 'Settings'. A list of currently trusted scripts is displayed - the first time you run the program, this list will be empty:

To mark scripts as trusted, click 'Add'. A list of all hard disks and shared network drives will be displayed:

Make sure that the checkbox is checked for each drive that you want to protect with Volto Interceptor. Then click 'OK'. Volto Interceptor will now scan the selected drives for VBS script files. When the scan is completed, check the checkbox next to each script that you want to trust (currently trusted files will already be checked):

Tip: If you are sure that your PC is clear of virus files, check the 'Select All' checkbox to select all listed files. Alternatively, if you want to block all VBS scripts on your computer, select no files.

When you click 'OK', Volto Interceptor will create and store a digital signature for each of the files you want to trust. You are then returned to the startup screen where you should click 'OK' to save the selected security settings.

You are now ready to test your installation!
